Mr. Jerwers       moved the adoption of the following Resolution:

WHEREAS, The Clerk gave notice to the Board this date of the Engineer’s completed survey and  estimate of the construction area for the Roger Landin   Single County Ditch #937 project.

and

WHEREAS, The proposed project commences  in Section 16, Jackson Twp., Putnam County, Ohio, at a point approximately 1800 ft. West of the center of Section 16, Jackson Twp. on the North side of Rd. O-22; thence downstream along the course of the ditch through Sections 16 & 9, Jackson Twp. to the junction of the Robert Horstman Ditch and there terminate.  Previous record – Louis Grote Dt. (Rec. 52-134).

now therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the 1st day of  October, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. in the General Assembly Room of the Putnam County Court House, Ottawa, Ohio, be and the same is hereby fixed as the time and place for the final hearing on the proposed improvement.

Mr.   Jerwers  moved the adoption of the following Resolution:

WHEREAS, Sealed bids for the cash rent of the county farm consisting of approximately  174.28 acres more or less were opened and tabled on the  27th   day of August, 2009.

WHEREAS, The following bids were received:

RESOLVED, The Board does hereby award the bid to the high bidder, Ellerbrock Farms, Greg Ellerbrock 10702 Road 5-H, Ottawa, Ohio 45875 in the amount of $145.25 per acre for a two year contract total of $50,628.34.

RESOLVED, Successful bidder will not be able to take possession of the farm ground until after contract agreement has been signed.

WHEREAS,  The term of David Wieging as a member of the Putnam County Planning Commission expired on July 31, 2009.

RESOLVED, The Board of County Commissioners does hereby re-appoint David Wieging to a three year term retroactive to July 31, 2009. His term will now expire July 31, 2012.

WHEREAS, the director of the Putnam County Job and Family Services has explained that the agency is in possession of  equipment that is obsolete and unfit for the purpose in which Putnam County Job and Family Services acquired it.

WHEREAS, OAC 5101:9-4-15 allows for the disposal of an asset when done in accordance with state and local requirements.

so be it,           

RESOLVED, that the request made by the Putnam County Job and Family Services Director to allow the County Job and Family Services to dispose of the following list of obsolete / unfit equipment be approved.

WHEREAS, Columbus Day, Monday, October 12, 2009, is a legal holiday for county employees.

WHEREAS, At a recent meeting of elected officials, it was discussed and approved by a majority of those attending that they felt the majority of  courthouse employees would rather work Columbus Day this year and have the day off after Thanksgiving.

now therefore, be it

RESOLVED,  The Board of County Commissioners does hereby agree to have regular office hours for the court house on Monday, October 12, 2009, and  be closed the day after Thanksgiving this year which is Friday, November 27, 2009.
