The Putnam County Board of Elections will hold its monthly meetings on the second Tuesday of each month at 4:00 PM; however, when there is an election in Putnam County, the monthly meeting will instead be held on Election Day.  The meetings are held in the conference room of the Board of Elections office, which is located in the Glandorf Complex at 575 Ottawa-Glandorf Road, Suite 2, Ottawa.

The Putnam County Board of Elections is accepting resumes for a Part-Time/Seasonal Clerk.

 

The employee will be under general supervision of the Director and Deputy Director.  Job duties will be:  input, process, and maintain voter records; issue and accept petitions and process filing fees; answer telephone, direct calls, and take messages; provide courteous and professional assistance to the general public, candidates, and elected officials; must be able to perform some physical labor (lift between 20 to 48 pounds) when handling election equipment and supplies; and perform other duties as required.   The clerk must be flexible in his or her work schedule and available to work extended hours during elections. 

 

Qualifications for the position are:  a registered Democrat in Putnam County preferred but candidates of other political affiliations will be considered; completion of high school or GED; computer knowledge and clerical experience preferred but not required.  A pre-employment drug screening is required and all applicants are subject to a criminal background check.
